A Duck’s Life

“Slow down, relax!
Do you want to die young?”
My mother admonishes me.
It’s easier said than done.
I rush and dance round
like Ginger Rogers on speed,
panicked and usually late.
Then one evening last week
when on my way home
a duck stepped out in the road.
I stopped my car,
placed it in ‘park’,
and studied his leisurely stroll.
Waddle, waddle, waddle…
Hmmmm…..
It occurred to me that
the ambling duck seemed a lot
like a kid on Spring Break…
He eats when he wants,
swims until dark,
and sleeps as he’s
warmed by the sun.
So I’ve made a vow
to live more like that duck…
To halt all the madness,
to savor each day,
and make the darned world
wait on me.
Damm… i have complicate my life once again.

you tis duck how much? =p
